Volunteers are greatly needed at the mission for various duties to perform each day.
We are in need of cooks to help prepare our evening dinner meal for the residents. The cooks arrive around 4PM to begin the food preparation and are done by 7PM. They are welcome to eat with the residents each night they cook. Dinner begins when chapel is over, usually between 6:45PM -7PM nightly. The cooks serve the first helping in a cafeteria line style to insure the food is dispersed proportionately then they are free to leave. The residents do the clean up and dish washing nightly. To volunteer to cook one night each month, please call Michelle Sandoval at (719) 544-4000.
Other volunteer needs during the year happen at the mission's Great Thanksgiving Day Banquet and our Christmas Day Banquet, both held at the Union Depot in Pueblo, Colorado. The full dinner for the community is served from 11:00AM -1:30PM and it has well over 500 in attendance each year. We need a minimum of 50 volunteers for these events. Please call Michelle Sandoval at (719) 544-4000.
Also, each summer the mission hosts a special Thanksgiving In June fund-raising luncheon at the Union Depot designed for all the local churches in the Pueblo area. This is a full thanksgiving day meal with turkey and all the trimmings offered as a "thank you" for supporting the mission. We need a minimum of 50 volunteers for this fund-raising event each year. Please call Michelle Sandoval at (719) 544-4000.
